Donations

Trashi Ge Phel Ling relies on donations to remain open. Our founder, Khensur Rinpoche, asked that we do not charge for teachings and we are fortunate to be able to honor him in this. The generosity of others means that the centre can continue to bring our teachers here, helping to cover the costs of airfares, accommodation, and koha not only for our teachers, but their translators too. We will always have a ‘donations’ bowl present at teachings for anyone wishing to contribute whatever they can. In addition to this, we are putting out the wish for regular sponsors. This will give us the opportunity to save money in the hope of expanding our centre, and in the long run, finding a permanent residence.  For many years now, the centre has functioned out of residential homes. Currently, we do not have any permanent space and are on the lookout for a space within the Wellington region.  Finding a permanent space will allow us to establish a more functional Dharama centre, providing enough space to create a beautiful environment and accommodate teachers/translators and visitors. A breakdown of the costs of running teachings at our centre are as follows: Lama visits costs us $735 to host each time (Airfares $400, Lama offering $130, Translator koha $125, Food $60, Power $20). If you wish to help, weekly automatic payments can be made into our accounts. Even just $5 is a huge help! Please email us before making a donation so that everything can be documented and accounted for. Our Bank Account Details: Trashi Ge Phel Ling ANZ 01-0504-0030799-00 Alternatively, one off payments are also a great way to help us, and any amount will be very well received.   Note: All general donations over $5 are tax deductible, and receipts can be obtained through our Treasurer (send us an email).
